Weakening or Loss of Eyelashes

Weakening or Loss of Eyelashes
Weakening or loss of eyelashes can have various causes, including certain dermatological conditions.
The upper eyelid contains about 200 lashes arranged in 3–5 rows, while the lower eyelid has around 100 lashes, which are thinner and shorter. On average, we lose about 2 lashes from each eye every day.
Eyelashes go through three phases of the life cycle:
  • Anagen phase (growth): lasts from 30 to 45 days. Approximately 30% of lashes are in this phase at any given time.
  • Catagen phase (rest): the lash stops growing, lasting 2–4 weeks.
  • Telogen phase (shedding): the lash remains attached to the follicle before naturally falling out; this phase can last up to 100 days.
External factors that can weaken eyelashes, causing dryness, brittleness, or loss include:
  • Autoimmune diseases (attacking hair follicles)
  • Hyperthyroidism
  • Excessive UV exposure
  • Use of cosmetics that do not meet safety standards
  • Poor hygiene habits
  • Deficiency of vitamins B6, E, and C in the diet
  • Eye infections
  • Overuse of false eyelashes
  • Stress

TREATMENT PROTOCOL:

Serum
3.4.6 Eyelash Lengthening Serum
Apply the serum once a day, preferably in the evening.
Gently apply along the roots of the upper lashes from the inner to the outer corner, following the lash line. Repeat on the lower lashes, avoiding contact with the eyes. Allow to dry for 1 minute before applying makeup. Do not rinse for 2–3 hours after application.
Use for at least 8 weeks to achieve the best results.
